Group Charter

The management of global systems and platforms involves understanding, assessing and managing an ever-growing list of risks, threats and challenges. From general risk strategies to specific technical solutions, from legal aspects to governance and people management, everything needs to aligned to balance risk with growth and business operations. These challenges are only amplified by today’s turbulent social and online environments – but then so are the opportunities from increased disruption and innovation.

The group's charter is to equip global cyber security leaders with the network, knowledge and skills required to navigate today's fast-changing technical, business and cyber threat dynamics.

Group Themes

At this time, Cyber Risk Group is focused generally on these major themes:

  • Tracking targeted attacks over social networks and channels

  • The evolution of privacy regulations and its impact on risk and security

  • The evolution of ransomware threat actors and vectors

  • Increasing use of misinformation to threaten and/or damage corporates

  • Nation-state focus on enterprise networks

Group Leaders

Raj Samani

McAfee Fellow, Chief Scientist, McAfee Inc.

Raj Samani is Chief Scientist and McAfee Fellow for cybersecurity firm McAfee. He has assisted multiple law enforcement agencies in cybercrime cases, and is a special advisor to the European Cybercrime Centre in The Hague.


Raj has been recognized for his contribution to the computer security industry through numerous awards, including the Infosecurity Europe Hall of Fame, Peter Szor Award, and Intel Achievement Award, among others. He is the coauthor of the books "Applied Cyber Security and the Smart Grid" and the "CSA Guide to Cloud Computing," as well as technical editor for numerous other publications.

Troels OertingChairman of the Board, World Economic Forum Centre for Cybersecurity (C4C)

Troels is a senior advisor to with governments and corporations on the issues of cyber threats and how to work closely with law enforcement, intelligence services and cyber security businesses. His former roles include: with the Danish National Police, first as Director, Head of the Serious Organised Crime Agency and then as Director of Operations, Danish Security Intelligence Service; Deputy Head, ICT Department and Deputy Head, OC Department, Europol, EU’s Police Agency; Head of European Cybercrime Centre and Head of Europol Counter Terrorist and Financial Intelligence Centre. 2015-18, Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Barclays.


Troels is also a former Chair of the EU Financial Cybercrime Coalition. Since 2018, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Centre for Cybersecurity at the World Economic Forum.
